Lists collect duplicates quietly: email addresses pasted twice into a mailing list, product names merged from two spreadsheets, keywords gathered from several sources, student names combined from class lists. Hunting the repeats by eye is slow, and missing one can mean a double email or a double entry. The NexToolz Remove Duplicate Lines tool cleans a list in one pass — paste, process, copy.
The rule is simple and predictable: the first occurrence of each line is kept, later repeats are removed, and the original order of the list is preserved exactly. Two options refine the matching. "Ignore case" treats lines that differ only in capitalisation as the same line. "Trim spaces" ignores stray spaces at the start and end of lines — the invisible difference that stops most manual clean-ups from working. The counters show exactly how many lines went in, how many came out, and how many duplicates were removed.
Everything runs entirely in your browser. Your lists are never uploaded, stored, or shared — paste a customer list or an exam roster with the same confidence as a shopping list.

Frequently asked questions
How are duplicate lines detected?
Each line is compared with the lines before it. If an identical line was already seen, the repeat is dropped and the first occurrence is kept. The comparison is exact unless you switch on the ignore-case or trim options.
Is the original order of my list kept?
Yes. The tool never sorts or reorders your text. Lines come out in exactly the order they went in, minus the repeats.
What happens to empty lines?
An empty line is treated like any other line: the first one is kept and later empty lines are removed as duplicates. If you trimmed every line, lines that held only spaces count as empty.
Can it treat "Apple" and "apple" as the same line?
Yes — tick "Ignore case". The comparison then ignores capitalisation, while the line that is kept in the output is the first version exactly as you pasted it.
Is my text private?
Yes. The cleaning happens entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded, stored, or shared.
Why use this tool?
Duplicate entries cause real-world annoyances — the same customer emailed twice, the same product listed twice, the same name counted twice. Because this tool keeps the first occurrence and your original order, the cleaned list drops straight back into the spreadsheet or document it came from, no re-sorting needed.
