Days Between Dates Calculator

Find exactly how many days sit between any two dates — weeks included.

"How many days until…?" sounds like a simple question until you try counting on a calendar — months have different lengths, leap years insert an extra day, and it is easy to lose count past a few weeks. The NexToolz Days Between Dates Calculator does it exactly: pick any two dates and get the precise number of days between them, also expressed in weeks and days.

It is the tool behind everyday planning: counting down to an exam, a wedding, a visa expiry, a project deadline or a delivery date; working out how long a course, a notice period or a subscription runs; or checking how many days have passed since an event. The result also shows which weekday each of your dates falls on, which is often the detail you actually needed for scheduling.

By default the count is the exact difference between the two dates. If you are counting a period that includes both the first and the last day — like a booking or a leave period — tick "Include the end date" to add the final day. Enter the dates in either order; if the end comes before the start, the tool shows the same total and tells you the dates were reversed. Everything runs in your browser, and leap years are handled by real calendar maths.

Frequently asked questions

How are the days between two dates counted?
The calculator takes the exact calendar difference between the two dates — for example, from 1 January to 8 January is 7 days. Ticking "Include the end date" adds 1, counting both the first and the last day (8 days in that example).
What if the end date is earlier than the start date?
No problem. The tool shows the absolute difference between the two dates and notes that they were entered in reverse order, so you get the same total either way.
Does it count working days or calendar days?
It counts calendar days — every day including weekends. If you need working days only, note the weekdays shown in the result and adjust for the weekends inside your period.
Is it accurate across leap years?
Yes. The calculation uses real calendar dates, so a period covering 29 February in a leap year counts that extra day correctly.
How do I count down to a future date?
Set the start date to today and the end date to your target — a deadline, an exam, or an event. The total days shown is your countdown.

Why use this tool?

Day counts feed real decisions — leave applications, notice periods, exam countdowns and payment deadlines — and a calendar count done by eye is wrong surprisingly often. This tool gives one exact number, in days and in weeks, with the weekdays spelled out so you can plan around weekends.
